Triptych
A triptych is something which has been composed or presented in three parts or section. These of which can tell a story or make the viewer think for themselves on what the image is trying to show them. They can also be collated to create one whole image made of three.
ANDRE KERTESZ
Working with surrealism and realism Andre created calming still life images. Mostly in black and white with a focus on shadows he took a series photos of basic objects such as bowls, forks and glasses. All from the same window, which to me helps in showing a story of his personality and that he took these photos in an area that he is comfortable with if they were all taken in the same place.
IRVING PENN
Penn was best known for his fashion photography, although he did do a series of still life objects involving used cigarettes and metal found objects. I could relate my triptych to this in a way as the images of Penn are cluttered as are mine through the box of keys surrounded in rubbish, but as well through the use of metal.
My Found Objects
One of my requirements within this module was to create of one our own, but through the use of photography. I chose these particular photographs because to me they tell some sort of story. They were all found within the same location so it left me to believe that they all had some sort of resemblance, the box of disorganised keys in the middle may contain the keys that match up with the two locks. However one was not found so the lock had to be prised open. All of these images have a metallic look to them, so this is what it tried to emphasise on within the images.
